Challenge

While most listeners find new music through playlists, many emerging artists struggle to get placed on them. This imbalance limits artist visibility and narrows discovery pathways for users.

Approach

I interviewed music listeners and independent artists to understand pain points on both sides. From these insights, I prototyped UX enhancements that made playlist placement more transparent and accessible for artists, while surfacing new music more meaningfully for listeners.

The final solution included a redesigned artist dashboard and an improved microsite experience to bridge the gap between creators and curators.
